2020 Scholarships

Scholarship time for high school seniors!

Some of our parish organizations and the Knights of Columbus are offering the following scholarships. Each organization has its own requirements:​

  • Knights of Columbus, Amador County Council 1849. Documents may be downloaded from the KofC website at http://www.kofc-1849.org/Scholarship.html. Applications must be received by Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

  • Our Lady of the Pines Society. Applications are now being accepted for the annual Our Lady of the Pines Society Scholarship! The $1,000 scholarship is awarded on the basis of time and talent given to support the needs of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Application requires the submission of an essay. It is intended for a graduating high school, or home-schooled senior, but may be awarded to a parishioner currently enrolled in a university, college, or trade school.  Applications are now available at St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center, or click here to download the instructions and applicationFiling deadline (postmark) is Monday, April 13, 2020.


  • Young Men's Institute, #137.  YMI 137 is happy to announce we have a $1600 scholarship for the 2019-20 school year. Entry deadline is Sunday, April 12, at 12 NOON. All participating Catholic young men and women are encouraged to apply, and all applicants must be in their senior year of high school. A minimum 350-word essay is required on the topic: "How I have enhanced my Catholic parish in Amador County." Essays may be turned in to the parish office or to Paul Padilla, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, dropped off at the Welcome Desk during regular office hours, mailed to the parish office, postmarked no later than April 12, or given to any YMI member prior to the deadline.   • Sacred Heart Ladies Club. This scholarship is open to any high school senior who attends Sacred Heart Church who will be going on to a 2- or 4-year college or vocational school. The application information will be available beginning March 1 and can be requested by calling Patti Page at 916-718-6265; or email SHchurchstuff@yahoo.com. Application deadline is Thursday, April 30, 2020.
